Six years ago today, Sarah died. She did not die in a nursery. She died in my arms and they spent an hour doing CPR on her next door. At 8:10 on November 15, 2009, my baby daughter was pronounced dead.
Sarah Elisabeth left behind parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins to miss her. She left behind her dog Ella who has delivered a bow for Christmas and followed me to the cemetery at times to help me grieve.
In the wake of Sarah's death, we had to decide what to do to honor her life beyond flowers that would die. We wanted to do something lasting.
After the completion of the Sarah's toy box, we decided to do something to help children. We had thought about working with the Fire Chiefs Association but when we heard from Bruce Richael about the children he ministers to we wanted to help them.
Today to honor Sarah's short life, we are launching the Promises Tour today.
Sarah Elisabeth, happy 6th Heavenly Birthday. I love you and I miss you!
