Sarah's Butterflies Foundation
The Sarah's Butterflies Foundation was begun in memory of Sarah Elisabeth Richardson. She was born on November 12, 2009 and passed away on November 15, 2009. Sarah left an imprint on our hearts far larger than her tiny self.
Sarah died before her first Christmas. Her toy chest was unfinished at the time of her birth and death. The summer after her death, her Papa finished the toy box and as a family, we decided to use the wooden toy box to spread hope to Sharon and Farrell.
In 2010, we spread hope to 38 families. 2011 our format changed and we began collecting snacks and distributing gallon sized bags Blessing Bags. To date Sarah's Butterflies (Formerly Sarah's Toybox) has distributed over 7,000 Blessing Bags across Mercer County. We spread hope every year. Several churches in Hermitage, West Middlesex, Mercer, and Grove City collect snacks, and school supplies for distribution to those in need of hope. Please check back soon for an update on distribution and our supplies for 2021.
